NorCal User Group Info - BASBITS’ SharePoint Build Day Announcement

Join us Saturday, October 17th at Comcast’s Menlo Park Offices for BASBITS’ SharePoint Build Day. Please RSVP now and save $40!

 

This is a follow along build day so you will want to bring a newer laptop (NOT a Netbook) with at least 20GB of free disk space. We will provide a Windows Server 2008 (not R2) image with all the SharePoint bits needed and you will need to download VMware Player ahead of time from http://www.vmware.com/download/player/player_reg.html.

9:30 AM – 12:00 AM              SharePoint Templates

 

Installing, customizing and utilizing publicly available templates. We will be working five or six templates (depending on time) to help you create a fully functioning SharePoint site that you can demo for your clients. The templates we will be using will be:

 

•     Absence Request and Vacation Schedule Management

•     Contacts Management

•     Employee Self-Service Benefits

•     Employee Training Scheduling and Materials

•     Knowledge Base

•     Sales Lead Pipeline

 

We will be working with a custom script that helps install all the Administrative Templates for you. We will also be going over the basics of security, access, integration and web parts. By the time you leave the class, you will be comfortable working within SharePoint, understand the security model and know how to deploy/use the Microsoft templates.

Tech Experts, a business networking organization for IT professionals, will hold its first monthly business networking meeting on May 6th, 2009. The meeting will be held at the Networking Lounge at 1934 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

 

Founded by local tech entrepreneurs, Luis Rosa and Cory Nott, Tech Experts goal is to improve the support of the Tech Entrepreneurs’ community by offering:

Bay Area User Group Info

SF SMB IT Pros is an association of IT Professionals specializing in small and medium size businesses in the San Francisco bay area.  Microsoft SBSC specialists who are engaged in selling, installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems for Small Businesses are encouraged and welcome to attend their meetings, webinar events, and product demonstrations.
